camping in the redwoods

This magical place is about 4.5 miles from Pescadero.

According to Native American lore, butano means “a gathering place for friendly visits.”
Yes indeed!

guardian of children

This is one of the most loved deities in Japan.
His statues are a common sight, especially by roadsides and in graveyards. Traditionally, he is seen as the guardian of children, particularly children who died before their parents.
